No the computer will not reach out and play the guitar for you, but yes it can do a lot of great things. Learn to play guitar software packages basically provide all the resources, material, and insights needed to learn how to play an acoustic or electric guitar. Only a few however also teach basic music theory and/or teach you how to read music. I would recommend that you learn these two concepts eventually although you do not have to know them right away.
