Nothing is free any more. Potentially you could grow your own food from seed, live in an area where you don’t require heat, and have yourself a dug well so you don’t have to pay for water. Lights are not really a requirement more of a luxury.
However your home would have had to been paid for one way or another, and what about the land taxes, those would have had to be paid up front also. The only possible way to go about not having money other wise would be to stay with family, and mooch off of them for the rest of your life, however this would get old extremely fast especially for the person you are doing it to.
