If you are a certified respiratory therapist you can be assured that your salary will be less than that of the registered respiratory therapist salary. You get registered and or certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and people who get certified have only graduated from entry level programs from the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) but the registered respiratory therapist has gone on to graduate from advanced programs from the same committee. A respiratory therapist can work their way up to being registered and to getting the jobs that they want along with the salary that they deserve.
