If you are in college and studying your career, you should visit as many career job expos as you can. Getting the right job in todays market is based on networking. It is based not on what you know, but on who knows you.  To do this right you need to know a couple of things.

You cant just network to network. You need to decide on the type of job that interests you and decide on the types of companies you want to work for. Ask the right questions –don’t ask questions that  can easily be answered with just a little research. Really know the companies you are interested in.Don’t act like you are desperate. Potential employers love talking to people who feel confident.Listen to what recruiters have   to say.  When someone is offering advice or  information about the company, be polite enough to listen.Respect potential employers time. Yes they are at the career job expo to offer information, but they are also there to hire people, so get the information you need and move on.

It is important to stat going to career expos even when you are not yet looking for a job, that way you start the network process going. You start to get to know potential employers and you know what they are looking for.
