The growing social role of lifecycle management

This is becoming a necessity in response to changes in government legislation and a general movement by the population to greater social consciousness. The carbon credits trading scheme is a prime example of how this is manifesting. Companies are now required to consider the implications of its decisions in social, economic and environmental terms. It makes sense to adopt a more accountable decision making process and explore avenues of lifecycle management. Resources are finite so it is necessary to preserve and investigate alternatives that have less social and economic side effects and to promote more sustainable outcomes.
