October 29th, 2009 . by adminMicturition:Micturition is a reflex action. It is controlled by pelvic nerves and sympathetic fibres from hypogastric plexus. The inner mucous lining of the urinary bladder is supplied with many sensory fibres while its muscle-coat is supplied with motor fibres. When fully stretched, nerve impulse originating from the bladder wall goes to the micturition center of the spinal cord (in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lumbar segments). Micturition takes place when signal comes from the center via the motor fibres.
