The Vermont Teddy Bear Company
June 29th, 2008 . by adminIf you are intereted in Teddy Bears, you will be familiar with Vermont teddy bears. Do you know how the company started? It began in 1981 by a single man named John Sortino. Sortino sold his handcrafted bears in Burlington, Vermont on the open market. He was approached by a customer who wanted a bear delivered to her home. This then became known as the Bear-Gram. Sortino liked this idea and stuffed the teddy bear in a box. It had an air hole in it to keep the bear fresh and it was packed with goodies, just like they are today.
