The Adidas and Nike Rivalry

September 29th, 2008 . by admin

Nike is the largest sportswear manufacturer and Adidas is not far behind. They have been intensly competing against one another for a number of years now. In 2005 Adidas purchased Reebok which pushed them a little closer to Adidas in terms of sales but they are still behind them none the less. The recent Olympics showed Adidas and Nike competing for who could sponsor the most teams and official events. Although Nike turns over more than $16 billion, Adidas is not far behind with $15 billion. Overall, this competition is great for the consumer as both companies compete to bring the best sportswear technology to the market such as Adidas Supernova.
